Osun to name State Law Library after Sapara Williams

By kehinde ayantunji

Governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has emphasised the need to strengthen legal profession in the country to ensure law and order and a chaos-free society.

The governor stated this on Tuesday while declaring open the Annual Sapara Williams Memorial Law Week with the theme: Law and Lawyers in Enhancing Socio-Economic and Democratic Growth and Development held at the High Court Complex, Ilesa.

In his speech titled: “Honouring the Trail Blazer”, Ogbeni Aregbesola said any society that wants to climb the ladder of civilisation needs to celebrate lawyers and the law profession, saying that man would have still been a primitive being, if not for law and order.

Aregbesola promised to name the state law library after the late legal practitioner, adding that the state would henceforth support the programme yearly with a sum of N1 million in acknowledgement of the contributions of the deceased.
